Kids given poetic licence at Sculpture by the Sea

AT this year’s Sculpture by the Sea, which starts tomorrow, another art form will be intertwined with the site specific works along the path from Bondi to Bronte. Schoolchildren will be engaging with the sculptures to create their own poetry.
It’s the second year Red Room Poetry has collaborated with the annual outdoor art show.

Toby Fitch, Sydney poet and poetry editor of literary magazine Overland, will lead workshops for year 4-6 students from Bondi Beach Public School and year 7-9 students from Arthur Phillip High School in Parramatta, encouraging them to explore and engage with the sculptures at Marks Park to create and perform their own poetry... read more »

Poetic Moments elevates the visibility and accessibility of contemporary Australian poetry by publishing in unexpected places from trains to planes, street banners, murals and sculptural installations. In collaboration with Sculpture by the Sea, RR will work with poet Toby Fitch to deliver workshops to Bondi Beach Public School and Arthur Phillip High School Parramatta.
