All Saints Grammar, NSW
Toilet Doors, 2011
All Saints Grammar is a co-educational Orthodox Christian School from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, run under the auspices of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia. This young and vibrant school founded in 1990 by the Parish and Community of Belmore and District to provide academic excellence within a foundation of Orthodox Christian ethics.
All Saints Grammar is a school that encourages and natures success to be an intrinsic part of all students and promotes a caring and safe environment that allows the students to remain focused and on task. This is achieved with the assistance of a dedicated, experienced and friendly teaching staff whose prime goal is to establish each child's learning and personal potential.
Australian poet Lindsay Tuggle travelled to Belmore to work with the students of All Saints Grammar on the Toilet Doors learning resource, which was developed by The Red Room Company that explores guerrilla poetry. Along with army dudes armoured with inventive poems, the classroom was re-wallpapered with Notice Poems. Lindsay Tuggle wrote 'The Ventriloquist's Lament' (see above) for the students of All Saints Grammar.
Lindsay Tuggle is the author of The Afterlives of Specimens (The University of Iowa Press, 2017) and Calenture (Cordite Books, 2018). She has been a fellow at the Library of Congress, the Mütter Museum / College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and the Australian Academy of the Humanities.
