The School
In collaboration with Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, The Red Room Company ran a special series of workshops to introduce students to the poetic wonders of the everyday - from the magic in their dearest belongings to the stories behind prize-winning artworks.
The Project
In an imaginative workshop led by Lilly Blue and Jess Santosa, students investigated the stories behind prominent artworks from the Blake Prize exhibition and recorded their discoveries through poetry. Students were guided in an in-depth tour of the artwork and challenged to trace the ties between the seen and the unseen.
Using a variety of writing exercises and prompts, students drew inspiration from their chosen artworks.
