The School

Oxley College is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational K – 12 day school founded in 1983 in Bowral. Oxley students have access to an intimate and caring school that is recognised as a school of choice for excellence in education from Kindergarten to Year 12.  Academic learning is at the very heart of Oxley as a learning community, by encouraging students to be intellectually curious, strong and independent thinkers. The Oxley College staff are dedicated, capable and focused on achieving quality learning outcomes for each student.

The Project

Renowned performance poets Lorin Elizabeth and Zohab Khan shared their bursting poetic energies with students at Oxley College.

With activities inspired by The Disappearing learning resource and the unique exercise Where I'm From, students investigated the blurring lines between memory and disappearing. They delved into the stories behind experiences rooted to time and place, finding poetic inspiration in the moments of disappearance. Each workshop culminated in a poetry sharing session from students.
