Abeny Monyteng Ring Mayol is a South Sudanese emerging Sweatshop writer from Western Sydney. She lived in Kakuma refugee camp in the Turkana district and Nairobi, Kenya where she learned how to read and write. In 2011, Abeny moved to Adelaide, South Australia and successfully completed a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning with (Honours) from the University of South Australia.
 
Abeny currently works as a Social Planner for local government area in South Western Sydney and pursuing her (Masters in Urban Design) at The University of Sydney. Her goals are to help create socially-inclusive and culturally-responsive communities through policies. She is very passionate about empowering young women and is currently working on a project to build a girls’ in school in South Sudan.
