The Poetry Month 2023 online program aims to broaden accessibility including open mics, panels, showcases and our new Poetry Book Club. We will also be live streaming a number of state showcases (as featured below) and the Poetry Month Gala via our YouTube channel. Add to that 'pay what you can' online workshops, free daily digital 30in30 poetry commissions, and our first Poetry Month podcast and this year's program ensures participants located around Australia can connect with and partake in poetry across August.

Check out the full selection of online events on the Poetry Month Calendar here, and don't forget to subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to hear about upcoming online events and livestreams.

All online and open to all.

Online Open Mics

Get ready to rock the screen with our online open mics! We're hosting an online open mic night for disabled creatives in partnership with BRAMBLE and QLD Poetry, plus you can show off your #30in30 poems at our online open mic at the end of the month.

Livestreamed Showcases

Across August we will be live streaming both the National Poetry Month Gala and the Victorian Poetry Month Gala, as well as state showcases in QLD and ACT via our YouTube channel. Full event details below.

Line Break: The Red Room Poetry Podcast

If a poem was a room you could walk into, whose voices might you hear? Red Room Poetry grew from a community radio show focused on the voices of Australian poets. Now in our 20th year, explore Red Room Poetry’s audio archives including commissioned poems from the first two years of the national Poetry Month and beyond.
