The deepest blue, like and ocean in a storm:
Sapphires hugged by gold.
A perfect oval held with a heart shaped butterfly.
Plain but beautiful, it will be simply right.

Why do I have them now, so young,
When plain but beautiful seems so far away?
My Lulu, my loving, generous, open, thoughtful, kind grandmother
Is gone too soon,
Too sudden,
Yet entrusted them to me when she was still with us.

I will wear these deep blue jewels
When my deep blue heart is better.
