The Ornamental Pear Tree

The tree goes from baby to teen,
Then to adult.
Over seasons, you will see it change to leaves,
Then flowers,
Then bare branches in the cold.
The leaves aren’t any ordinary leaves,
They’re different than other leaves.
The flowers beam in the sunlight,
No flowers or leaves in sight in winter.
In spring, I take a handful of blossoms and launch them into the air,
Then watch them fall slowly back down to me.
On the dark gloomy days, when it rains they go droopy.
On stormy days they might get hit by lightning.
So, as the seasons go by, you’ll see the changes,
From leaves to blossoms to bare branches again.
