National Poetry Month Gala
What can a poem do? Often we reach for poetry to mark occasions of celebration and mourning, resistance and remembrance. Poetry can be a rallying cry or surprise and delight.
The National Poetry Month Gala showcases a rich feast of contemporary poets such as Eunice Andrada and Scott-Patrick Mitchell alongside PM Literary Award for Poetry winners Omar Sakr, Sarah Holland-Batt and Stephen Edgar. Hosted by Alex Lee the night also features comedians and actors including Nat's What I Reckon, Sacha Horler and Nina Oyama reading their favourite Australian poems, as well as a musical performance by Eric Avery. More artists to be announced soon.
