Admissions: Voices Within Mental Health is a groundbreaking volume of poems, lyrics, essays, stories and illustrations documenting and foregrounding a wide range of voices with lived experience, published by Upswell and edited by David Stavanger, Radhiah Chowdhury, and Mohammad Awad.

This is an event sponsored by the Australian and New Zealand Society of the History of Medicine, together with Red Room Poetry, and chaired by James Dunk. Stavanger and Awad will discuss the project's intent and curation, and contributors to the volume John Mukky Burke, Heidi Everett, Jonathan Dunk, Gemma Mahadeo, and Anna Jacobson will give readings and reflect on their written pieces. A moderated discussion will follow.

This is a free event and all are welcome.
