Threatened Species Day is a day when we shine a spotlight on all the Australian native animal and plant species that are facing similar fates to that of the Tasmanian tiger, which slipped over the extinction line on September 7th, 1936.

This FREE Threatened Species Day - POEM FOREST workshop with Gamilaroi poet, folklorist and musician Luke Patterson is open to all Australian primary school students and will guide them through writing activities from our curriculum-aligned learning resource to help craft nature poems and enrich learning outcomes across sustainability, First Nations cultures & histories, English & Science.

Students are encouraged to submit their poems to the POEM FOREST Prize via our digital entry form. For every nature poem received a tree is planted to help heal endangered habitats and students will go in the running for $5,000 worth of prizes, including a special Threatened Species Prize.

Bookings essential.
