About the workshop:
Created by Red Room Poetry, in partnership with The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan, POEM FOREST deepens our connection and breathes life back into the world that sustains us. For every nature poem received a tree is planted to help heal endangered habitats. We planted 5,000+ poem trees in 2021!

Poet, illustrator and educator, Brenna Quinlan, who will guide primary students through writing activities from our curriculum-aligned learning resource to help craft nature poems and enrich learning outcomes across sustainability, First Nations cultures & histories, English & Science.

Here’s what you can expect on the day:

  • Welcome to the POEM FOREST with Red Room Poetry
  • Poem reading, illustration and nature writing prompts with Brenna Quinlan
  • Some time to write your own nature poem!
  • Q&A with Brenna and the Red Room Poetry team

All POEM FOREST Prize entries will be published and in the running for $5,000 worth of prizes, including $500 cash for each category, book packs, Garden tours, seeds and more!
