Blak & Bright First Nations Literary Festival is based in Naarm (Melbourne). Established in 2016, the four day showcase celebrates the diverse expressions of First Nations writers and covers all genres from oral stories to epic novels and plays to poetry.
With over sixty First Nations artists front and centre, Blak & Bright First Nations Literary Festival partners with literary organisations nationally and internationally to present Blak stories at venues near you.
Poetic collaboration is at the heart of this first-of-its-kind anthology which holds poems from some of the world's most incredible Indigenous writers from Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. This session explores Woven, a poetry anthology that holds the voices of 30 First Nations peoples collaborating to write other worlds. With Anahera Gildea, essa may ranapiri, Evelyn Araluen, Raelee Lancaster and moderated by Bridget Caldwell-Bright.
With support from Red Room Poetry, Creative Australia, and Magabala Books.
