Arthur Boyd, Bars and Frances
Frances is a wonderment. Tim, myself and Joel have been spending hours with Frances in her beautiful, clean white office trying to fit the imagination of all our projects and poets, into our website. Frances' walls are still white but at the same time the space is a red room, rich with our stories and songs, posters and posters of them. As our education programs grow, in gaols, gardens, classrooms and the bush, so does our website.
The Poetry Object invitations have all been posted out come November 15 the State Library of NSW is exhibiting poems and special objects from students in NSW Public Schools (Sydney Region). As part of this project, we've commissioned new poems from Robert Adamson, Rachel Briggs, Nicholas Powell and others.
I've been disappearing quite a bit, these last few weeks - behind bars with Lionel Fogarty and Nick Bryant-Smith at the South Coast Correctional Centre, and in the open magnificence of Arthur Boyd's Bundanon working with students from schools in the area.
Attached here is Nick at work with students from Vincentia High School.
