Poetry Month 2025 Full Program is Here

Red Room’s annual celebration returns to showcase the vitality of Australian poetry.

This year's program is so packed it is bursting out of August. The festivities kick off with Writers Victoria on 30 July and stretch through til 3 September at the iconic Sydney Opera House. With incredible ambassadors sharing their love of the form, brand new 30in30 poems and prompts every day plus showcases, debates, workshops, Q+As, films, performances, competitions, new music, fine art, book clubs and the return of the National Poetry Month Gala, the full program is now available here.

30in30: Daily Poetry Commissions
Each year, Poetry Month creates opportunities for brand new works of poetry to make their way into the world. Commissioned, paid and published by Red Room, 30in30 delivers new original poetry, reflections and writing prompts, providing a snapshot of some of the best of contemporary Australian poetry. Featuring original commissions by our 2025 Poetry Ambassadors, Red Room Poetry Fellows and some of our leading poets working at the finest.

Poetry Month Ambassadors
This year’s stellar line up of Poetry Month Ambassadors will be joined by a new Youth Ambassadors program to showcase emerging excellence and foster the next generation of Australian poetic talent. The four inaugural Poetry Month Youth Ambassadors will be announced on 12 August for International Youth Day.
