Bush Philosophy: Rivers and Pools

Heraclitus said you can never
step in the same river twice,
but his mate and arch-
rival Parmenides
may have been right.
You may not be able to
tiptoe into the same runnel
to double your money,
but you can sidle
as many times as you like
into the sleepy waters
of a moment of peace.
It is always
the same billabong.
