Christine Finney

Aunty Christine Finney is a proud Wadi Wadi Elder, artist, and healer whose life and work embody resilience, creativity, and cultural strength. A member of the Mudjingaal Yangamba Choir and Aunty of the Indigenous Education Team at St John the Evangelist College Nowra, Aunty Chris is dedicated to nurturing young people’s understanding of culture, Country, and community, inspiring generations through her truth-telling, forgiveness, and wisdom.

Holding a Certificate III in Dhurga Language, she weaves ancestral knowledge through every facet of her life, teaching, singing, and making art that reflects her connection to Country, culture and healing. Her hands are always creating beauty and her heart is always in service to others.

As a mother, grandmother, and respected Elder, Aunty Chris continues to lead with grace and spirit, guiding others to walk with respect, kindness, and hope while honouring the enduring strength of Aboriginal culture and women’s wisdom.
