Bob Brown is an Earth advocate who has been arrested a dozen times protecting nature but only jailed twice. He has authored as many books, including Optimism, and led the campaign which saved Tasmania’s wild Franklin River. He spent more than a decade in the Tasmanian Parliament and the Australian Senate where he led the Greens and succeeded in ending the requirement that men (only) wear jackets. He is now roustabout on his partner Paul’s farm and is writing a novelette for teenagers called THERA as well as a book for environmental protesters called DEFIANCE. He will be in court again on Wednesday.
