Delia Falconer
Delia Falconer is a prolific writer, her short stories and essays being anthologised in such publications as the Macquarie Pen Anthology of Australian Literature and The Penguin Century of Australian Stories. Her short stories have been published in The Age, Australian Love Stories, andPicador New Writing. Her first novel, The Service of Clouds, was a critically acclaimed best-seller, shortlisted for the Miles Franklin and the NSW Premier's Literary Awards among others. Her second novel, The Lost Thoughts of Soldiers and Selected Stories, was also shortlisted for numerous awards. She has won several awards, including the Independent's Young Writer of the Year Award (1992), first prize in the Island Essay Competition (1994) and the HQ/Joop! Short Story Competition.
Delia currently teaches at the University of Technology Sydney and in 2008 was made the Inaugural Scholar in Writing in Creative Practices at UTS
