Giles Watson lives on Menang-Noongar land in Albany/Kinjarling, Western Australia. He has a long-standing fascination with natural history – and with the poetry of Emily Dickinson. He is the author of the novel which became Mimma: A Musical of War and Friendship, performed at the Regal Theatre in Perth, Cadogan Hall in London and Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Italy; and is the editor of Ten Poems About Butterflies (Candlestick Press). Eungedup: A Wetland Summer Diary, to be published by Fremantle Press in January 2026, explores his relationship with a site of extraordinary biodiversity as he negotiates life with chronic fatigue.
