Jonathan Sriranganathan lives in a leaky houseboat on Kulpurum Creek in so-called Brisbane.

He has performed as a feature poet at a long list of festivals including Sydney Writers Festival, Brisbane Writers Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and Red Dirt Poetry Festival, and among other accolades was the 2012 Queensland Poetry Slam Champion, a winner of the former Woodford Poetry Slam, and runner up in the Australian Poetry Slam Grand final.

Jonno’s work is heavily influenced by his home city, and seeks to find the magical within the mundane. He writes about a range of themes from love and radical joy, to racism, sexism, colonialism and climate apocalypse. Outside of performing, he mostly works in political activism and campaigning, and much of his poetry reflects upon collective struggles for a better world.

He also raps and plays clarinet/saxophone with various musical projects including Rivermouth, Obscure Orchestra and The Mouldy Lovers.
