Lorne Johnson lives in Bundanoon NSW and teaches English at Magdalene Catholic High School in Sydney. His poetry has appeared in Meanjin, Island, Islet, Famous Reporter, Cordite, Wet Ink, Regime, Mascara Literary Review, Eclogues, the Newcastle Poetry Prize Anthology 2007 and the Broadway Poetry Prize collection 2004.

He laments the fact he dipped on the red-lored whistler and malleefowl when in the mallee in 2011.
