Fan of bad taste

1.
Fan of bad taste
seeks special some1
to rub up the wrong way
Surprise,
it’s me
Together we could
turn over
calendar pages
very slowly
2 weeks 2 late
We could
bump keyboards together
gnash our old embarrassed teeth
Bend starlight
round the corner
of a street
we’re tired of walking down
2.
One night in Tonsai
I woke up with a terrible feeling
That’s a lie
my eyes were already open
to a milky darkness
a vibrating darkness
Sound was heavy
Turning
over and over
like the rock
rolling around in my chest
I’d lost track of my heart
It had gone out wandering
or rather
it was sitting outside
alone
on the balcony
3.
At 37
I should know better
I shouldn’t get mown down
by a new sound
Can I count on
coming home
after another disaster
yes, another one
Mountains used to make me thirsty
now I leave them alone
they don’t need me to interpret them
The poetics
of being washed up
do nothing but make me sluggish
I refuse to rail against anything
I am a slug riding a stone
a noise looking for a quiet room
