Nadia Neal
Nadia is sunrise saltwater woman from the Five Islands Dreaming. She is proud Wodi Wodi Dharawal woman with ties up and down the coast. Growing up in the Illawarra learning and dancing songlines from Gumbaynggirr to Yuin Country she is a firm believer in continuing and teaching the younger generations our culture to keep it alive.
Knowing that our ancestors would be proud in the fact we are still speaking, dancing and stomping up Country is the driving force for Nadia.
As a University lecturer teaching UOW students about Aboriginal health and Racism - the continual fight for justice has been a legacy passed down through her families generations that Nadia continues to this day. Truth telling and education are the foundations for all work Nadia is involved within. Reminding the wider community that Sovereignty was never ceded.
