The Disappearing Poetry Writing Workshop
Saturday 30 April, 1:30 - 5:00pm | Booranga Writers' Centre
Acclaimed Slam poet and Wagga local, Zohab Zee Khan ran a special poetry-writing workshop. Participants used their own experiences of Wagga Wagga to reflect about the changing physical settings and landmarks around them.
This workshop draws upon The Red Room Company’s The Disappearing – a digital anthology linked to place. Participants will explore the themes of disappearance/reappearance, lived experience, local histories and memory.
This workshop will have a special performance outcome. Up to 5 participants will be paid to publically read their written pieces in a Twilight Poetry Tour, held in Wagga Wagga. The poetry written in this workshop will also be published in The Red Room Company’s The Disappearing.
This workshop has been supported by Regional Arts NSW through the Country Arts Support Program, and is presented in partnership with The Red Room Company.
