The scents and sounds of bush awakening
mist rolling in
frost draining down
river system
yellowtails flying home at night
call of the wattle bird
the dance of the lyre
the bower of the satin
the stillness in the gorge
the colour of the river and invasive carp
the platypus surfacing on the riverbend
the slow noxious weed
progression on the river banks
opposed to the pockets
of pristine untouched ferns
by the creek
finches and wrens darting and dancing in the morning
the colours in the sky over the western ranges at sunset
the banksias springing
from rain on the escarpment
the frogs calling
in the night
the emus up from the valley
the koala unmoving
wedged in the tree
the wedgies with the latest offspring
circling the landscape
the lightning struck tree on the ironstone ridge
the few native trout in the waterholes left in the creek
the black snake hunting
for skinks
the swans nesting
in the rushes
