The birds connect us with their overview
af the skies that we share
the rivers connect us across Country
as the lifeblood and veins that return us all home
the trees connect us as the roots of our being
across Country
the garru (magpie) sings us to the day ahead
and the gugabarra (kookaburra) sings us to the close
the gundungurra (yellowtail black cockatoo) is brother
to the guuga (goanna) is brother
to the Muriyira (whale) and to all totems
of all First Nations Countries
and speak to each other
of our shared stories and unique journeys
because we are all interconnected
in mind, body, spirit
