Voices trapped, hidden.
Urging to have their say.
Stashed away, too difficult to speak.
Tension rises, the bars warp, loosening.
The words tumble out, rushing.
Over each other they pour, emptying the cage.
Stumbling together and apart.
Sometimes making sense, others not.
Thrown away and given back,
An insult to the keeper.
Given back into hands unwilling,
And given back again, an apology this time.

A necklace can trap words,
And set them free.
