Eyes fused shut,
I hear water movements, swishing tails
Still water disturbed
Shadows cross over me
I sense fear and fluster
Light shimmers throughout the day
The sea whispers
Waves roll in,
Crashing onto the crowded sand.
I lay in the hidden depth of the sea
Sinking during night and day.
Soon darkness comes around,
Bringing wind,
Wind bringing roughness,
Throughout time I taste salt,
I smell the salt,
It begins to crust over me,
Mingling sea-life growing,
I am now,
Their brightly coloured home,
I give them protection,
I keep them safe,
My face sags,
Crumbling,
Wrinkling,
Jagged,
Rocky,
My features unrecognisable,
Now, just another thing of the sea.
