Baked blue sky with birds high,

Animals run by.

During the day children play,

The wind picks up and ends the day.

A fire has come,

Carried by the wind.

One small spark,

The fire spread through the bark.

Fire brigades come, strong and brave,

One by one, the hoses spray.

The fire flickers,

As the wind gets faster and faster.

Air too thick with ash to see,

Nowhere to go, nowhere to be.

The fire is gone in a flash,

All that is left is ash.

Thank you for doing your part,

You’ve warmed our hearts.

From ashes to trees,

To planting seeds.
