Discarded by its anonymous giver,
delivered to me by fate,
found in the depths of the snow’s soul,
what a miraculous find!
First with frozen flooded fur,
then warm and safe with me,
once more priceless than a million dollars,
now it’s worth has been all spent.
Relegated to a wooden cupboard,
with other outgrown toys,
memories now stone cold,
loneliness has struck again.
