Giant Dragonfly
By Heidi H
Leaves rustling with thriving life,
Buzzing loud as its white-silver wings,
Cutting through the thick air like a knife,
Emerald green, body shimmering under the summer sun.
I see as it flies by my eyes,
A dazzling jewel as bright as the morning sky,
How I’d love to zip like that,
Oh, what I would give or take to fly.
