Flopping lazily onto a comfy bed
Heave him into warm arms
Squeeze him snug, squeeze him tight

Been abroad
Always alongside me
There with me, always there

His worn material against a thumping chest
free from danger, a warm flushed feeling
Spreads across my body

His bulky nose burrows against my body
His soft ragged skin brushes on my arms
Stubby tree stumped legs poke out in awkward directions

His face shabby and tattered
A wide smile stretched across his face
His eyes shine as two of the brightest stars in the night sky
