Wildflowers bloomed in the meadow

They had once lived how long ago

They had fought in the snow

Fighting like a dangerous foe

Insects have an easy life

They eat, drink and strive

The bees live in their beautiful hive

And the ants get magically revived

Wind blows east and west

Leaving my hair in a mess

Birds wonder if their nest

Will stand the difficult test

I wish I could live like thee

Live like thee and not hide

Protect me and care for me

Though I will not survive.
