The only water they had was the silent tears

That she shed

Enough to make the ground hope for more,

Too little to replenish what was once a

Happy, now distant memory

Compressing heat blanketed the earth

The sun suffocated the water,

Died. Before Birth.

We ask for too much, give back nothing,

What WE have done, have left ourselves

Fuming

Raging

Hoping

Caging

Hurting

Loathing

Hating

But it’s in our head, in our brains, in our veins

Yet we disdain, the anticipation for precipitation,

It has left us insane
