In the vast desert, where the sun’s fierce blazing eye ignites,

I stride through shifting sands, under endless desert lights

How long have I journeyed, a solitary presence in terrain?

Among nature’s hidden trails, where secrets of the wild remain

Is this my path to tread, through arid domain,

To wander ‘neath boundless skies, where whispers of life sustain?

But then beyond the towering dune, a vision starts to appear,

A family of fellow travellers, their presence drawing me near

We share tales of desert nights, under the starry tapestry’s light,

Marvelling at nature’s wonders, beneath the desert’s gleam so bright.

Yet in the quiet moments, hints of sorrow leave a trace,

For my family was stolen by man, a tragedy I must face,

As the dawn’s first light bathes the land’s ancient face,

I realize, with a heavy heart, their absence left an empty space,

They were mirages, tricks of the light, creations of my grief and despair,

Images of my kin, vanishing into the deserts desolate air,

In the desert vast, where the sun’s fierce rays ignite,

I roam as a lone coyote, under the day’s relentless might

My family though fleeting, was nature’s work of art

A reminder of her wonders, etched forever in my heart
