My Blanket

The soft silky cloak draped over my body
A place to wipe my tears
Guiding me through life
Through times of distress
Through times of love
Always with me from the beginning till the end
Streaks of azure, marigolds, lavender, emeralds and rouge
Keeping me warm like a furry hat on a frosty day
As I get older the colours fade
From luminous colours to a silhouette of a much adored blanket
