My Teddy Dinosaur

A guardian of the darkness
A protective little thing
He cuddles up to me
His small purple head turns left and right
In the stillness of the cool night
His short arms rub against me
Scruffy all around
His squinting eyes staring at me
I hug him tighter
Like a family member
He is getting old
Sewn and frayed around the edges
Strings sticking out of him
Fluff everywhere, holes here and there
But I still like him all the same
He's special to me
He brings back memories
Waiting for my return from school
I snuggle him, I love you 'Barney'
