Nature Poem

As I lay in the grass watching the clouds form shapes,

the beauty of nature overtakes my mind,

I close my eyes and see in a faraway place,

a field of daffodils surrounded by trees,

as the daffodils dance, the trees sway, making a perfect melody.

When I open my eyes, the beauty of nature is unravelled before me,

Some of the baby trees forming leaves,

as the adult trees are the perfect height for children to climb.

I watch as butterflies weave their way between the long green grass,

and I hear the crickets chirp from beneath.

As I take this all in, I realise,

how lost in yourself you can become when surrounded by,

the everlasting beauty of nature,

watching the birds drift by it’s as if my worries follow them,

leaving my mind in absolute peace.

It felt like a dream when I heard the trees whispering,

but when I sat up, I saw the sun coming down,

and said aloud to Mother Nature herself,

what a beautiful day it was lost in your elegance.
