Flashing billboards,
Changing so fast they’re just a blur of colour.
Towering skyscrapers,
So tall they seem like they could touch the dark, indigo sky
Dotted with stars.
Blinding bright lights,
Neon colours,
Entwining with each other
Like ribbons.
Cars speeding past,
Zooming so fast
That their shapes are indistinguishable.
People jostling each other,
Obsessed only with themselves,
All oblivious
To the true beauty
Of New York City.
All this
Captured by a single silver frame
Sitting on a rickety wooden shelf.
