Ocean's Song

The sun beats down hard
and the winds filled with heat,
would whip my skin and leave it scarred.
But a place I would go, would cool my feet
the waters I jump in
protect me from the heat of this dog day
and refresh my wounded skin,
here I am so merrily gay.
The chilling waters hug my dry body,
the blue of the seas fills me with peace,
and the salty scent comes upon me
the cheers of my soul do not cease.
Here i truly belong
with the splash of the waves and the sound of the ocean's song.
