Once Upon a Scout

Hanging in my cupboard,
Waiting for a Thursday night
Red cord upon left shoulder
A coloured scarf, encased in the collar,
Short, olive green sleeves,
A navy blue body,
When the time comes,
It is put on,
Displaying badges only scouts have
Earned through time and effort,
Research and good turns.
Around the world, many more alike,
But mine is special, only to me
