Pearl Necklace

It’s bright and white. It shines in the light.
It holds thousands of silver memories
A loving gift as precious as a puppy
As exquisite as an angel
It is from a delicate, small clam.
It was picked up and held in a hand
I laughed in the inside
I never let it out of my sight
Oh! It’s so bright!
A small present for being caring
It came straight from China in a sparkling silver case
It had a diamond around it which shone in the sun
If you listen carefully, it sounds like waves shoving the sand
It smells like a fragrant frangipani
The pearl is like a silken shell that travelled the world
I haven’t found a place where I don’t feel special with it
People say it’s worth nothing but;
It means everything to me because my mum bought it
