Piano Exam Certificate

As I walk into the centre, feeling anxious and scared.
I take the lift up to level 8,
Sweat drowns my forehead like a swimming pool.
I get called by my examiner,
I am scared.
Walking in is giving me the creeps,
My hand stiffly touches the keys.
It’s a daunting feeling.
She is scrawling down notes,
I feel sick in the stomach.
My head goes in circles, I feel like fainting.
When I finish, I got told to stay.
Everything I’ve done,
Leads up to this important moment.
The examiner hands me the certificate.
I look at it.
I got an A.
My mum is ecstatic,
I’m over the moon.
My eyes are full of tears.
