Remembering

Blindingly beautiful, bold blessings
Light at the end of a dreadfully dark corridor
Inhale musky memories
Watch graceful Chinese characters fly across the pages,
like leaping prima ballerinas.
Remembrance of persevering birds,
singing wishfully in a pollution filled world
The splatter of ebony ink
The crystal song of tears
Laugh and cry, live to die
Smooth as diamond saltwater
An ivory splash to remind you of bones
Pages, soft yet textured
Like the hide of a majestic elephant,
Swaying in the forceful current of a sweltering breeze
Crammed with words of wisdom
Of a forever fragile old man
