Summer

Summer is a time for fun
To sit outside and play in the sun
The Earth is warm, the sun’s ablaze
I really enjoy those hot summer days

Slushies and ice-cream keeps me cool in the heat        
Playing outside with my thongs on my feet
Dad's in the yard on  the barbecue
Hot dogs burning we’ll have to make do

Hot summer days when there is no school
Spending our days down at the pool 
They turned on the waves machine to keep us cool
We got kicked out because we broke the rule

Crashing waves washing up 
I swallowed some  seawater it was yuck
Diving in to have a bathe 
Getting out I need the shade

Taking our picnic to the park
Staying late it’s after dark
Down at the playground playing with friends
We wish that summer never ends
