The Bracelet

Given to me in a land far away.
It took a day to get there.
I always swayed on those hot, hot days
but I still had time to play there.
I was lucky my feet were never bare.
The bracelet has a black string,
with tiny green rubber beads and
a cute silver owl.
A gift from my cousin
Who lives so far away.
I think of her when I wear my bracelet.
A connection between us
Keeps us strong.
