The birds chirped

The trees swayed

The next chapter began of the day

The sun shone from up in the sky

To reach the pale skin of a girl so shy

Spending her days picking flowers that bloom

Instead of being stuck inside with a broom

The sparkle of the water flicking through her eyes

As she turned up to look at the skies

The softened grass that tickled her toes

While frosty air bites her nose

Oh how nature brightens her day

If only we could promise it would stay.

The clunking machines that get in the way

Glooming the way we see our days

The birds chirped

The trees swayed

Another chapter begins of the day

Will we ever make a change

That will take us from future gloomy days?
