Waiting

Cold, wet rock
This is where I sit
The warm air lightly presses on my back
This is where I am alone
Here I wait
The river is rushing even though it has nowhere to go
It keeps me company until I realise I'm alone
So here I wait
The trees are rustling
It's calming
But here I still wait alone
The birds are talking
To each other not to me, it reminds me I'm alone
I continue to wait
Butterfly flaps
The sound is soft
Here I wait
I wait here forever alone
