Blak Ink returns to WA, this time moving to Walyalup Fremantle!

Welcome to Blak Ink, where poetry gets real, raw and unapologetically Blak.

Produced by Red Room Poetry and Fremantle Library for Poetry Month, and curated by Luisa Mitchell, Blak Ink is a dedicated space for First Nations poets to come together, speak, and be heard on our own terms. A space of strength and story. A chance for us all to listen deeply. Beginning with the music of a local First Nations artist, join us for an evening of powerful rhythms, rhymes, shared resistance, joy, celebration, learning and connection. A selection of First Nations books will be available for sale at the event.

Featuring Tanesha Bennell, Jack Collard, Leanne Dolby and Maitland Schnaars. Hosted by Luisa Mitchell, author of Song of the Shadow of a Seed.

Presented for Poetry Month in partnership with City of Fremantle

This event takes place on Whadjuk Noongar Land. We pay deep respect to Elders past and present, and acknowledge the enduring sovereignty of First Nations people. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal Land.
